Choose a vehicle that can safely and comfortably accommodate every passenger, child seat, suitcase and travel item in your group.
A vehicle's advertised seating capacity is its maximum legal number of occupants. It does not guarantee enough luggage space when every seat is in use. In many vehicles, raising the third-row seats significantly reduces the cargo area.
Please consider your entire group and everything you will carry before booking. Choosing the correct vehicle category is the customer's responsibility, but our team can help if you send us the details in advance.
Every occupant must have an individual, legally usable seat and seat belt. Children also count as passengers, including babies seated in child safety seats. Luggage must never prevent the driver from operating the vehicle safely or obstruct the driver's view, mirrors, pedals, gear selector, doors or safety equipment.
A vehicle listed as having five, seven or eight seats may legally carry up to that number of people, subject to the correct use of seat belts and child restraints. This number does not describe passenger comfort or cargo capacity.
In compact minivans and many seven-seat vehicles, the third row normally uses part of the luggage area. With all seats raised, only a limited number of bags may fit behind the last row.
A configuration may be legally possible but uncomfortable for long drives. Passenger height, child seats, luggage size and trip duration should all be considered. When close to the limit, choose a larger category.
Photos, seat diagrams and suitcase icons on the website are intended to help with selection, but luggage shapes and passenger needs vary. Vehicle groups may include different models with similar general specifications. Unless expressly confirmed in writing, a reservation is for a vehicle category, not a particular model, cargo layout or exact trunk measurement.
Child seats can reduce the usable width of a row and may affect access to other seats. Multiple child seats may not fit side by side in every model, even when the total passenger count is within the vehicle's stated capacity.
Reserve required child seats in advance and provide each child's age, height and weight accurately. Availability and installation compatibility must be confirmed.
Strollers, travel cots, wheelchairs and mobility equipment must be included when estimating luggage space. Please provide folded dimensions or a photo when an item is unusually large.
Never assume that a stroller will fit simply because the vehicle has enough seats for the family.
Please contact us before reserving if you will carry items such as:
Bulky, heavy, dirty, wet, sharp or potentially damaging items must be disclosed in advance. Protective covers or special arrangements may be required. Roof loading, external carriers and roof racks are not permitted unless Sunrise Rent a Car has expressly approved and supplied the appropriate equipment.
The customer is responsible for damage, excessive cleaning or loss of use caused by improperly transported items.
Customers are responsible for safely loading and securing their belongings and may be charged for damage, excessive cleaning or additional handling caused by heavy, unstable or improperly loaded luggage.
Our staff may inspect the number of passengers, child seats and amount of luggage at pick-up. If the reserved vehicle cannot carry the group safely or legally, we cannot allow unsafe loading or departure.
A larger vehicle may be offered only when available and may require an additional charge. During busy periods, an upgrade or replacement vehicle may not be available. The customer may need to arrange another vehicle, taxi, luggage delivery or other transportation at their own expense. Delays or additional costs caused by inaccurate passenger or luggage information are the customer's responsibility.
At Naha Airport, vehicles cannot remain at the terminal while bags are reorganized or while members of the group are still inside the building. Please have all passengers and luggage ready at the instructed meeting point before the vehicle arrives.
For a large group or a vehicle filled close to capacity, we may recommend that passengers and luggage be dropped at the airport first and that only the driver return the rental vehicle to our office for inspection. Follow the instructions provided by our staff for your reservation.
We can recommend a suitable category based on the information provided. Final suitability still depends on the actual size and shape of your passengers' belongings, so accurate details are essential.
