Information about the payment options accepted by Sunrise Rent a Car and the conditions applicable to completed transactions.

Sunrise Rent a Car offers several payment options for the convenience of our customers. The availability of a particular method may depend on the booking channel, transaction amount, payment timing, technical availability and any verification requirements.
All rental prices, deposits, additional charges and contractual amounts are officially denominated in Japanese yen (JPY), even when payment is made by card or an accepted cryptoasset.
We accept major international credit and debit card brands supported by our payment processors.
Card payments may be subject to authorization, authentication, antifraud checks and limits established by the card issuer.
Cash payments are accepted exclusively in Japanese yen (JPY).
Foreign currencies, personal checks and unauthorized vouchers are not accepted as cash payments.
Selected payments may be accepted in BTC, ETH or XRP, subject to prior confirmation by Sunrise Rent a Car.
The accepted asset, network, amount and payment instructions must be confirmed before any transfer is made.
Sunrise Rent a Car accepts major credit and debit cards supported by our payment gateways. Available card brands may vary depending on the payment channel, card issuer, country of issuance or technical availability.
Card payments are processed securely by independent payment service providers. Sunrise Rent a Car does not store complete card numbers, card security codes or banking authentication credentials.
A card transaction may require authorization by the issuing bank, identity verification, additional authentication or an antifraud review. Sunrise Rent a Car does not control:
When reasonably required for payment verification or fraud prevention, the customer may be asked to present the card used for payment and identification matching the cardholder’s information.
The use of a card belonging to another person may require additional authorization and verification. Sunrise Rent a Car may refuse a third-party card when ownership or authorization cannot be properly confirmed.
Cash payments are accepted exclusively in Japanese yen (JPY). Foreign currencies, personal checks and other instruments not previously authorized by Sunrise Rent a Car are not accepted.
Customers should prepare the required amount before the scheduled payment, particularly for service outside normal business hours or at an external delivery or collection location.
A receipt may be issued for payments made directly to Sunrise Rent a Car.
Certain payments may be accepted using selected cryptoassets, subject to prior approval and payment instructions provided by Sunrise Rent a Car.
Cryptoassets normally considered for payment include:
Availability is not guaranteed. Before sending any cryptoasset, the customer must confirm the accepted asset, blockchain network, wallet address, amount and, where applicable, the correct destination tag or memo.
A transfer made to an incorrect address, through an unsupported network, without a required destination tag or memo, or otherwise contrary to the provided instructions may be impossible to identify, credit or recover. Errors originating from the sender remain the customer’s responsibility.
Foreign-issued stablecoins and stablecoins that do not satisfy the operational, accounting and regulatory requirements applicable to our business in Japan are not accepted.
This policy reflects local regulatory and compliance requirements applicable in Japan and is not a commercial restriction imposed against stablecoins as a category.
The contractual price remains denominated in Japanese yen. The amount of cryptoasset required for payment will be calculated when the payment instructions are issued and may remain valid only for a limited period because of market fluctuations.
Payment is considered completed only after the correct amount has been received through the approved network and the transaction has obtained the number of blockchain confirmations considered necessary by Sunrise Rent a Car.
Blockchain network fees, wallet fees, exchange fees and other costs charged by third-party service providers are the customer’s responsibility and must not be deducted from the amount payable to Sunrise Rent a Car.
Once a payment has been completed, the customer does not have an automatic right to replace the original payment method with another method.
For example, a payment made by credit or debit card will not automatically be cancelled or converted into a cash payment merely because the customer later prefers to pay in cash.
Any requested change of payment method:
When a payment method change is voluntarily requested by the customer, the following amounts will apply:
The applicable amounts will be disclosed before the change is processed. If the customer does not agree to those costs, the original payment method and transaction will remain unchanged.
The customer must not make a new payment using another method without prior authorization. Offering or making a replacement payment does not, by itself, require Sunrise Rent a Car to immediately cancel, reverse or refund the original transaction.
Sunrise Rent a Car is not responsible for currency conversion differences, international transaction fees, bank processing times or other costs charged directly to the customer by a bank, card issuer, digital wallet, exchange or payment service provider.
These conditions also apply when the request is made during the rental or at the time the vehicle is returned.
Amounts identified during or after the rental may be charged separately, as permitted by the rental agreement. These amounts may include:
The payment method used for the original reservation does not prevent Sunrise Rent a Car from requesting or processing an additional amount through another authorized payment method.
Before disputing a transaction with a bank or payment provider, customers should contact Sunrise Rent a Car so that the payment can be identified and any issue can be reviewed.
A customer must not request a chargeback for a legitimate transaction merely because the customer later prefers another payment method, does not immediately recognize the billing descriptor or disagrees with a charge validly established under the reservation or rental agreement.
A chargeback or payment dispute does not automatically cancel a valid contractual obligation. Sunrise Rent a Car may provide the bank, card network or payment processor with relevant evidence, including the reservation, rental agreement, payment records, communications, vehicle collection and return records, photographs and documentation supporting the transaction.
Refund eligibility, amounts, procedures and processing times depend on the type of reservation, cancellation timing, original payment method, services already provided and other circumstances related to the rental.
Where required by the payment provider’s rules, a refund will be sent through the same method used for the original payment. Sunrise Rent a Car is not automatically required to replace a refund with cash, a bank transfer, cryptoasset or another method subsequently requested by the customer.
